I recenly came out my my close friends as bisexual. I told them that i will come out to my parents soon but I don't know how to and the awkward explanation after is what I'm dreading. Any advice?
sooo im 15 and did this multiple years ago to my parents but i did it at different times and different ways! for my mum i ligit told her that i liked women and men and that she should be prepared that if i ever get a partner she should be prepared for it to be a female. and for my dad i just came home and snogged a girl in our kitchen (not the best idea but got the point across when he walked in and saw lol). whatever you do just go in with a posotive mindset, starting with a negative one will add extra stress to you. If you're really nervous you could have a friend with you for emotional support. :)
So im old lol (53). My daughter came out to me when she was 12. She just turned 15. I actually just shared you with her. She makes stuff like you have in your shop too. After christian camp that year she said “mom i have to tell you something but i dont want you to be mad and you cant tell dad. Im bisexual”. I was like ok, what do you want to tell me? She said that was it. I said why would i be mad about your sexuality? And your dad will be fine. The only thing i asked her was to not label her sexuality for the whole world. Her friends all wear pins and at 12 i didnt think that was necessary. I dont label my sexuality on my shirt. I feel like sexuality is private. That is not to say at a lgbtqia+ event she shouldnt. Its cool to have pride in yourself but i explained to her that its not appropriate in a business meeting or when your first meeting someone but with friends and family then of course share yourself. Its a little different though as your much older than she was when she came out. Now that she is 15 she decides who/when to tell. I am very proud of the person she is growing up to be. I dont know you but from what ive seen id be super proud to have you as a daughter. I love your page and your honesty. Be true to yourself and never let anyone make you feel bad for how you feel. If they do that is their problem, not yours. I hope your parents are cool with it but if not they will come around. Id be proud to say your my daughter. Just keep swimming, swimming. Dori on nemo is my hero lately. Im janiqua aguilar on fb if you wanna friend me. My real name is Janis but i dont want to be penalized for stuff i post. I got in trouble at work once for posting a pic of me and my friends at a mexican restaurant because we had margaritas in front of us. Apparently pediatric nurses arent human and dont drink. They didnt even care mine was virgin because i had to drive home. So now i use a fake name on there. Stay true to yourself.
