Does psychosis make you neurodivergent? I have synesthesia and I'm a HSP, so I know I'm neurodivergent, but I'm wondering if psychosis counts too? Also um, how do I stop hearing voices? I can't tell what's real anymore. I don't want to go back to the hospital.

Hey, my name is Luci. I am diagnosed with Schizophrenia, along with a whole slew of other things. Mine is fairly balanced, I experience a roughly equal mix of paranoia, hallucinations, and delusions etc, sometimes one is worse than the other. Before I was diagnosed I had been hearing a lot of voices and seeing shadows and stuff, got worse really quickly. I didn't tell anyone because I thought it might be my synesthesia acting up but I wasn't sure. It kept getting worse to the point I couldn't tell reality from not anymore. Eventually I was hospitalised for an attempt, my parents took me to the psychiatrist, and he was like..."yeah so that's not good." So I think trying to talk to trusted people about it, knowing you're not alone. Medication has helped me a lot, too, so maybe pursuing a diagnosis of anxiety or a schizophrenia spectrum disorder is a good step towards becoming medicated.
