Hi, y´all. I am writing this for any help with a possible autism diagnosis. I have stimmed from an early age (and still do) and don´t get social cues sometimes. I also am extremely sensory sensitive, and my parents agree that I have been since a young age, along with refusing to eat foods because I didn't like the textures and refusing to wear clothes because they felt ¨wrong¨. I asked my parent if they thought so, but they juts dismissed it, saying if I was autistic, ¨they would know¨. Any help?

I hope your parents do understand but either way remeber autism does not define you, it's part of you but not all of you and if you get diagnosed you will still be the same person. I am diagnosed autistic but I was diagnosed as an adult because when I was young it was not well known about.
I would say gather a list of reasons of your symptoms, or why you think you're autistic. Take this when you go to someone to talk about it. The first people I would talk to, especially if you're parents aren't super good with this stuff, is a school counsellor or therapist, or another trusted adult like an aunt/uncle, teacher, grandparent, etc. They can help you brainstorm the next steps you can take.
I also found this alternative criteria written by an autistic person very informative when I was first looking into autism! (Keep in mind this was made by one person and doesn’t have scientific studies behind it and is mostly based on personal experiences and the original criteria.) https://www.tumblr.com/rinielelrandir/157274394976/revised-alternative-autism-criteria
One thing that might help is looking up the official dsm 5 criteria, and then look up the simplified criteria, and YouTube videos explaining it! Maybe you could discuss it with your parents if you’re comfortable?
