Hey! The question is pretty much the title, but I think I've been having tics recently. They look like tics, typical head or hand jerks and small sounds, but I don't know if they are truly out of my control, I don't think about doing them, they just happen, though they do sometimes happen more frequently if I think about them. Some feel more out of control and out of the blue then others, those scare me a little.
I haven't told anybody, except for my boyfriend, who was getting concerned one day when it was happening like every minute and was causing me pain.
(I'm so sorry if anything in this triggers somebody's tics, if so please let me know so I can change it.)
i think i have provisional tic disorder but i also have tourettic ocd and i know you can have both and that theres also a clear diff between them but yeah!
I also pick up tics when watching Zara or other people's videos, or like hanging out with people who have tics or Tourettes. I don't have them often though unless I have recently been close to or seen someone with tics. I don't know if this is just like subconsciously mimicking their actions or actually triggered tics though. If anyone does the same thing or has ideas, let me know!
Your own tics can be triggered by watching other People tic. So if you have a ticcing disorder that is normal.
This does sound alot like some of my simpler tics, but I think you should try recording yourself to see
I also started ticcing more after watching zara, but they are definitely out of my control
i suppose the easiest way to tell is by making a youtube video with a webcam and then watching that video to observe yourself and see if anything is happening that you didn't notice while recording. I make youtube vids and lemme tell you watching myself is cringe AF lol 😂🤣
I feel the same! I've been wondering about it, but I've been to scared to ask about getting a diagnosis. But I'm getting better at becoming more comfortable around people when I'm ticcing, and I hope you can too!
It will be interesting to see what people say if I have similar but I think mine might be asd
