Enemy For A Brain
Published 13th July 2025
My debut book detailing mental health, bullying, school, neurodivergence, and my acceptance journey after developing debilitating health conditions. This is a memoir of growth, neurodiversity and advice on life after becoming disabled 🌈✨
My Story
Growing up, I struggled with mental health, OCD, bullying and a few types of tics 🧠
At age 14, my tics deteriorated rapidly and I was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome (TS). I then developed a condition called Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) which causes lots of neurological symptoms like seizures, tremors, weakness, dystonia and more.
After developing other chronic conditions, I became a wheelchair user and have learned to adapt, teaching others how to do the same.
Now, I document my life with chronic illness, educating about disabilities and challenging accessibility while travelling the world! 🌍
FAQs about my book!
What age is it for?
Enemy for a brain is aimed at anybody from teen age upwards but this is only a guideline. I kept various audiences in mind while writing, so it has an easily digestible format with shorter chapters.
There are some heavy themes covered in the book, but I have included trigger warnings for these at the beginning of the book.
Which conditions does it talk about?
The book talks about Tourette's syndrome (TS), Functional Neurological disorder (FND), Orthostatic Intolerance, Autism, and some mental health conditions.
I also give information on other conditions such as other tic disorders or Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome (POTS), though I cannot speak from personal experience on these.
What formats can I buy?
We currently have a paperback edition which is available to purchase below, or on any mainstream online book retailer (e.g. Waterstones, Foyles, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Bookshop.org etc).
We also have an e-book version available on all online e-book retailers!
Will there be an audiobook available?
There is currently no audiobook format for Enemy For A Brain, but this is something we are working on, and hoping to publish in the near future!
